  21. Yes. SMTP servers generally only wake up at intervals in order to send
  22. mail. The delay is caused by the message being passed from server machine
  23. to server machine, and the SMTP server on each machine waiting for its
  24. allocated time slot to come round. I think the usual figure is 15 minutes,
  25. but it's probably less for ISPs.
